MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND ADVICE - GETTING CHELSEA FANS OVER THE LINE TO A BETTER PLACE
OVER THE LINE has been set up to help all Chelsea supporters understand and address their mental health and wellbeing. Poor mental health can affect everybody and we are here to help all people examine their own mental health and decide whether it is time to do something to help themselves. It is unquestionable, however, that a serious problem exists among men – and particularly men of a certain age group. Here are highlighted some key facts from https://www.mentalhealth.org.uk/.
These facts can be as a result of many things but one key issue appears to be societal expectations, and traditional gender roles play a part in why men are less willing to make that step over the line to find help for their mental health problems. There is some research to suggest that there is a vicious circle at play; that men who are unable to talk about their emotions find it difficult to actually realise that they even have a mental health problem in the first place. This is why we always encourage you to speak to friends and family about how you are feeling. Opening up may help you recognise that you are struggling.
There are many websites and resources to learn more about mental health and related data (we list a few of them on our “What next?” page). We are not a research platform and so we can let you discover as much or as little as you like elsewhere. We are here to help you take that next step, based upon how you are feeling and what is going on in your life.
